About Our School
Spalding Parish Church of England Day School is a two form entry Aided co-educational primary school for children from the ages of four to eleven years. This means that:
- the Governors of the school establish the admission criteria; and
- Religious Education and daily acts of Collective Worship are in accordance with the teachings of the Church of England. This upholds the rights of Church parents/carers to have their children educated in the faith of the Church, in a Christian atmosphere, within the nurture and family of the Church.
Children are admitted at the beginning of the academic year in which they are five.
The Planned Admission Number is 60, (per Year Group).
Children join the school in the Foundation Stage and move on to Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2). Year 3 signifies the change to Lower Key Stage 2 and Year 5 signifies the change to Upper Key Stage 2 which lasts until the transfer to secondary school at the end of Year 6.
We are at an exciting time in the development of our school as the Local Authority have asked us to become a three form entry school; this academic year will see an over offer in Foundation Stage 2 with an intake of up to 90 children. The Local Authority have provided an extra learning space or our Foundation Stage Unit and will provide further classrooms to enable sufficient space for learning as we grow year on year. These will provide high quality and up to date facilities for all our children.
Children are placed at the heart of all decisions at Spalding Parish Church of England Day School and we believe that we are the emotional adventure playground upon which our children conduct their early experiments and find out about their world.
